How Does In-Office Teeth Whitening Work?
Dr. Sohn and Dr. Lee offer in-office teeth whitening for patients who want instant dramatic results. He applies the whitening gel directly to the teeth and then directs laser light to activate the gel.
In-office teeth whitening works very quickly, with each appointment lasting only an hour. Most patients see improvement of as much as eight shades.
How Does At-Home Whitening Work?
The at-home teeth whitening system at Sunrise Dental produces results over 2-4 weeks of daily use. Our doctors will fit you with custom plastic mouthpieces, which contain the whitening gel.
You add a set amount of gel to the whitening trays each day and wear them for the prescribed period. Some patients wear the trays for half an hour per day, while others may wear them overnight based on the doctor's recommendations. Most patients achieve multiple shades of whitening with the at-home teeth whitening system.
Does Teeth Whitening Affect Dental Crowns, Veneers, or Other Restorations?
No, teeth whitening doesn't affect dental restorations like crowns or veneers. If you have restorations, speak to one of our doctors before your teeth whitening appointment to ensure that your restorations can match your new teeth shade. In some cases, you may have to replace restorations to match your new and improved smile.
